The personal encounter with the Spirit of Christ Jesus ushers an individual into deep spiritual insights and structures ones’ outlook in life. It is a life that a person experiences inwardly before its external manifestation. It is a spiritual transformation that anchors and positions the heart to emulate God. God is the Father of all spirits (Hebrews 12:9). And as the Father, He knows the design and purpose of the heart, which is to radiate His characteristics. As portrayed in scripture, within the seven spirits of God, the focus on the Spirit of Wisdom, illuminates the Father as the source of blessings. We need Gods’ blessings in order to operate and accomplish our divine responsibilities while productively occupying our fields. The biblical narrative of Esau and Jacob, demonstrates the importance of inheriting a fathers blessing. The inheritance referenced is through an earthly father. Can you imagine the durability of a direct divine blessing? In 1 Kings 3, King Solom received a divine blessing – Wisdom. God blessed the King with Wisdom! Here, in the passage, scripture shows us the result of the blessing manifesting in his wise ruling that left an impression on an entire nation.
So, what exactly is the mystery of the Lord’s blessing? The Bible directs individuals to set our eyes first on the spiritual realm, because that is where the treasure of the Spirit of God is. According to scripture one is to “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33, NKJV. The book of Psalms chapter one shows us a clear divide between the paths of prosperity and destruction, highlighting that the Lord’s blessing leads one to prosper. You may be asking yourself how? Here is the answer:
“Blessed is the person who obeys the law of the Lord. They don’t follow the advice of evil people. They don’t make a habit of doing what sinners do. They don’t join those who make fun of the Lord and his law. (Psalms 1:1, NIRV)
Based on this verse, we see four dimensions: obedience, discipleship, character, and membership. The choice of obedience is an intentional decision. It is the very revelation of the discernment of good and evil that allows one to walk in obedience and keep the Lord’s decrees and commands. In looking at discipleship, it pertains to the willingness to receive divine teaching and instruction into the Ways of Gods’ Kingdom. Just as every society has a culture, so does the Kingdom, there are certain ways to be, which constitute the expectations of the prescribed lifestyle that one observes. It is the cultural way taught to the individual, whose response shows in their observance. Our Almighty Father has given us the perfect example in Christ; “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:4, NIV).
In looking at the example in Christ Jesus, one begins to develop and cultivate a new character from within that is Anchored in A Higher Thought, which governs your entire being hence reproducing Gods’ Kingdom characteristics, which morphs into a natural habit overtime. Thus, when a person finds anchorage in God, will you then not belong to His house? Yes, of course, this is how you become a member of the body of Christ.
